who can benefit from coaching?

Anyone who is truly committed to taking ownership of their health and wellbeing!

The foundation of nursing is based upon care of the whole person. Nurses are uniquely positioned in healthcare to be true patient advocates as coaches- integrating their medical knowledge, evidence-based practices, clinical experiences, critical thinking, and of course intuition into their practice.

As a Registered Nurse with a decade of experience in both the hospital and outpatient settings, I have witnessed the many gaps that exist in traditional healthcare along the way. There was a constant voice nudging me that kept asking, “Why are we not looking at the whole person?” "What are preventative measures we can take before it gets to this point?"  There was never enough time with each patient, I sometimes felt like a chicken running around with no head, only able to juggle the patient load and necessary tasks. I knew there was a better way for a person to heal.

Finding my way onto the career path of holistic nursing, and stepping into the role of a nurse coach, I have been given the gift of time with each client. As a nurse coach, I take an integrative and holistic approach to get a deeper understanding of your health and wellness to be able to help you integrate positive and sustainable changes. Our health is multidimensional and I believe that care should not be a "one-size-fits-all" approach. I wanted to create an environment where we honor the autonomy of the person, and really take the time to look at the whole picture. Through a collaborative relationship, we will do a deep dive into all aspects of your life (the pillars of wellbeing), to help you clarify your motivations, values, and personal goals to be able to close the gap from where you are now to where you want to be..

Using professional knowledge and clinical experience, coupled with training in integrative nurse coaching philosophy and skills, I can facilitate healing by helping you see where blindspots exist and where your actions are not aligning with your intentions. These thought-provoking questions and insights allow for discovery and the creation of possibilities. Sessions typically involve an analysis of the pillars of wellbeing and incorporating wellness practices into these, building mindfulness into your routine, reprogramming negative thoughts, breathing and awareness exercises, reflective practices, and creative imagery and visualization. You are in the driver’s seat, I am here to help you find your own way.
